History
In 2006, the two half-cantons (Appenzell Innerrhoden, Appenzell Ausserrhoden) were invited as special guests to the “Olma”, a huge market held annually during the fall. For this event, our choir was formed from a group of young, open-minded people. In about ten rehearsals, we steadily built up the performance from scratch and had the 15-minute show ready for October 21st.
The original idea was to perform only on that particular day, but as so many people showed interest in the way we connected traditional music with contemporary songs, rap and beat box, we decided to continue.
Since then, we have performed twice on TV (2008 and 2012) and, in 2008, won a competition in Lindau where we were delighted to receive one of the coveted awards.
The choir is still going strong: we practice at least once a week and are as enthusiastic as ever! We have performed at receptions, aperitifs, seminars, company and family parties, anniversaries, weddings, festivals, and concerts at home and abroad.
